OUR HISTORY

Decades of Journey & Achievements

The Beginning

Established in 1966, TAMCO initially gained traction by supplying switchgear and electrical equipment to tin mining dredges. With the decline of the tin mining industry in Malaysia, the company strategically shifted its focus towards serving the power utility, oil and gas, manufacturing, and construction sectors.

Laying the Foundations

TAMCO's journey in the realm of product manufacturing began with low-voltage switchboards. In the early 1970s, it boldly stepped into medium-voltage switchgear production, pioneering this effort as the first company to do so in Malaysia. Presently, over 85% of the company's production is dedicated to medium-voltage equipment.

The Turning Point

Since the late 1980s, TAMCO has taken significant strides to produce components that were once imported locally. Simultaneously, there has been a strong emphasis on local research and development, recognizing the need to reduce dependence on foreign technology licensing.

Future Prospects

Today, TAMCO proudly stands as the most vertically integrated switchgear manufacturer in Southeast Asia, distinguishing itself prominently among industry players in the region.
