TAMCO Switchgear is deeply rooted in its establishment in Malaysia since 1966, specialize in manufacturing and distributing medium and low voltage switchgears to utilities, constructions, industrials, and oil & gas companies around the world. Since its inception, the company has been dedicated to meeting industry standards and requirements, providing essential testing facilities to ensure product quality and safety.
TAMCO Testing Laboratory, situated in Bukit Raja, Selangor, has been a pivotal part of the company’s operations since its inception. Notably, in 2008, the laboratory underwent significant developments, coinciding with the relocation of the manufacturing plant. This strategic move aimed to enhance the efficiency of product testing and certification processes. Before the accreditation of TAMCO Testing Laboratory, there was a significant gap in the local industry. The company had to rely on overseas laboratories such as KEMA in the Netherlands, CESI in Italy, ASTA in Australia, and IPH in Germany to conduct type tests before achieving product certification. This often resulted in delays and added costs.
However, with the laboratory’s commitment to excellence and dedication to meeting international standards, it achieved ISO 17025 accreditation by Standards Malaysia on 25 September 2023. This accreditation signifies that TAMCO Testing Laboratory meets the highest standards for competence in the testing of medium-voltage switchgear.
The ISO 17025 accreditation not only streamlines the product certification process but also allows TAMCO Switchgear to issue validated Type Test Reports for various applicable testing scopes. This achievement is a testament to the company’s commitment to quality, compliance, and its ability to meet the rigorous standards of the industry.

The in-house manufacturing of all insulation components, a salt spray test lab, and special zinc cobalt coating on all nuts & bolts, moving parts, and fasteners provide TAMCO products with a crucial edge in terms of reliability and strength.
